This page is dedicated to the new Hut Build. All progress of the new build and hut will be recorded on this page. Newest news in on top, each dated to days of development.
Apologies about the lack of updates this year, it has been due to several factors, however I fully intend to keep this as up to date when new developments take place. Build progress from the start of the development to January 2009 can be found on a separate page by clicking on Build Progress 2008 in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
 
ABOVE LEFT:: Looking from the top of the drive towards the basement with the new grass blocks growing
ABOVE RIGHT::Looking into the ladies toilet. Toilet and hand wash basin with mirror.
BELOW LEFT:: In the disabled toilet there is a new shower.
BELOW RIGHT:: A clearer view of the hand wash basin present in each toilet.
 
 
ABOVE LEFT::Looking from the bottom end of the main hall towards the kitchen. You can see the new hall is bigger and brighter with plenty of lighting. The bits in them middle is some of the new kitchen still waiting to be installed and for the rest of the final parts to be delivered.
ABOVE RIGHT::Looking in the middle 'room' towards the third room which is furthest away from the main entrance. This can be used as a door or a concertina door and can be opened fully to make one single room.

BELOW RIGHT:: Stood at the bottom end of the hall again, but the opposite side looking towards the new kitchen and entrance doors.
 
 
ABOVE LEFT:: Stood by the kitchen wall looking towards our new entrance. This has double doors into the main hall. The kitchen is on the right and you can just see the serving hatch. The single door to the left of the main entrance leads into one of the rooms.
ABOVE RIGHT::Looking towards the kitchen with the main entrance on the left. The awards boards have been positioned in there new place of pride.
BELOW LEFT::A view of some of the kitchen equipment waiting to be installed.
BELOW RIGHT:: Stood inside the new kitchen looking towards the front wall. (From left to right):: The gas pipe comes up through the floor to where the new cooker will stand. The pipe work on the right is for the new sink and drainer.
 
 
ABOVE LEFT:: Looking from the entrance door towards the toilet area with the entrance to the main hall on the right.
ABOVE RIGHT::From the edge of our new walkway into the main entrance.
BELOW LEFT::From outside this is the pipe work for the underground heating. The rest of the pipe work is now buried underground. The pipe comes into the building at the basement where the heat exchanger is.
BELOW RIGHT:: Looking up from the other direction towards the new walkway. You can faintly see some of the CCTV cameras that now surround the whole of the exterior of the building.
 
 
ABOVE LEFT:: Looking from the boundary of our land towards the Scout Headquarters. Only the landscaping now to be done outside of the building.
ABOVE RIGHT::Looking at the new grass blocks where it is growing through slowly. Once grown you will hardly notice that the blocks are there.
BELOW LEFT::A new energy efficient, high power light controlled by switch or sensor.
BELOW RIGHT:: Looking up towards the new drive and with the car park on the left. This is finished as it has now successfully been tarmaced.
 
So that I don't have to repeat this on each image, the red piping in all of these pictures is the under floor heating system. This is the environmentally friendly ground source heating that we are installing to the hew Headquarters.
 
ABOVE LEFT AND RIGHT::With the wall frame up you can now see the real size and feel of the HQ. A toilet and wash basin will fill each 'cubicle'.
BELOW LEFT:: This will form two rooms. The frame up towards the roof shows the approximate size of the room. I'm stood in the corner of the second room so you can't really see the size well.
BELOW RIGHT:: Looking at the first room from the second.
 
 
ABOVE LEFT:: Looking in towards the main activity hall. This shows the size of the new room with the windows on the walls.
ABOVE RIGHT:: Looking from the bottom corner of the activity hall, The three rooms on the left, entrance and toilets in the top left corner and kitchen to the right (where the two blokes are stood!!)
BELOW LEFT:: The controls for the under ground heating system. I wont explain!!

ABOVE RIGHT::Looking at the toilet area. From the furthest to the nearest - Disabled toilet, including shower had hand wash basin, ladies toilet, including Hand wash basin and the nearest is the gents, again with a toilet and hand wash basin.
BELOW LEFT:: Looking from the tree line / church side of the HQ, this is the side facing the trees which will be the new entrance to the HQ
BELOW RIGHT:: Stood inside the new kitchen looking towards the rear wall, the approximate size of the new activity hall can be seen from where the wood is laid out on the floor. (the extreme bottom and right of the picture.
 
ABOVE LEFT:: Looking from the activity hall side of the kitchen wall towards the main entrance. The red lines on the floor show the location of the entrance doors and the lobby area.
 
ABOVE LEFT:: What a difference!! This is the exterior of the new Scout Headquarters (note it is not a hut anymore!!) The window frames in, brickwork in, underneath door in place, guttering, roof!! Amazing!
ABOVE RIGHT::Looking at the front of the HQ, the brickwork still to be completed here and guttering/fascias to be added also.

BELOW RIGHT:: Looking from the field towards the side of the HQ. The gap at the bottom left of the building will be the new entrance to the underneath of the HQ suitable to fit a vehicle to, making loading and unloading of equipment much easier!
 
 
ABOVE LEFT:: From the inside of the building. This is stood looking at the entrance on the left. Once built, the toilets will be occupying the space between the door gap on the left and the door gap in the middle of the building at the far wall. Spaces for disabled, male and female toilets is made.
ABOVE RIGHT:: Looking through what will be the entrance. To the right is the main hall and left to the toilets and kitchen.
BELOW LEFT:: Toilets! Just without the seats! From left to right, disabled, male and female. Separated from the kitchen and hallway by walls.
BELOW RIGHT:: The kitchen area, looks small but it is actually quite big! The brickwork in the middle of no where is currently housing the electrics while it is being built.
